Join Multnomah County as a Senior Network Administrator and play a vital, hands-on role in keeping our community connected. Your days will involve administering and implementing network configurations, and installing and maintaining physical network systems to keep pace with evolving customer demands and continuous growth, while keeping our services secure and reliable.

In this role, you will:

  • Architect and Design: Join a team of fellow senior administrators in designing, installing, and configuring the County’s network to support data, voice, video and other communications which will also include critical connections with other organizations. In partnership with your peers, you will evaluate short- and long-term customer requirements and recommend new network solutions to meet evolving business needs, as well as improve efficiency and reduce costs.\
  • Manage and Troubleshoot: Proactively monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex outages, and work with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues swiftly.
  • Secure the Environment: Together with the IT Security Team, you’ll help keep our data and systems secure by putting protective measures into practice. You’ll ensure our systems are patched and up to date, and help to shape our disaster recovery plans, ensuring our critical systems are current and safe.
  • Develop Documentation: Ensure our system processes and configurations are thoroughly documented. Create and maintain clear, detailed technical documentation for complex network configurations, system operations, and procedures.
