REQUIREMENTS:

  • Expert-level experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking.
  • Expertise in SIP configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (HSRP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, HP/Aruba, and Fortinet products (switches, routers, and firewalls).
  • Strong background in high-availability, redundant network infrastructure for critical systems.
  • Experience with public safety networks and mission-critical communications.
  • Familiarity with geo-diverse deployments and their unique challenges.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex networking environments.
  • Ability to mentor and support field technicians with varying technical skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong documentation skills for writing MOPs, deployment plans, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Formal Education in a field of study related to this position. 10+ years of Bonafide, expert-level experience in the same industry and setting as position, in lieu of formal education requirement.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent vendor-specific certifications.
  • Experience working with critical infrastructure environments (e.g., public safety, emergency response, utilities).
  • Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) and automation tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking architectures and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and integrate high-availability, redundant network infrastructure for critical systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot L2/L3 networks, SIP protocols, and advanced routing technologies (HSRP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.).
  • Work extensively with Cisco, HP/Aruba, and Fortinet networking hardware, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Provide expert level SIP Engineering, including installation and troubleshooting of all levels of SIP traffic configurations. Serve as a SME for configuration and troubleshooting of BCFs and SBCs of all sizes.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to field technicians of varying skill levels.
  • Develop and maintain Methods of Procedure (MOPs) and detailed action plans for deployments and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure network security, stability, and performance in high-stakes environments.
  • Support geo-diverse installations, considering the unique network design and failover requirements.
  • Interface with customers, technical teams, and executives, adapting communication style based on the audience’s technical knowledge.
  • Act as a group leader when required, guiding and managing team efforts on complex projects.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, outages, and performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance network performance and security.
