The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Parramatta. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Fortinet devices and a strong background in network architecture, security, and administration. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on Fortinet devices.
  • Professional certifications such as Fortinet NSE, CCNP, or equivalent.
  • In-depth understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and security principles.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with network diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and mentoring skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Perl).
  • Familiarity with cloud networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring and analysis tools such as Auvik
Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, deploy, and manage functional network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN) using Fortinet and other devices.
  • Monitor network performance and integrity, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues escalated by support teams.
  • Implement and oversee security measures, including access authentication and disaster recovery.
  • Automate network tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to the other network engineers.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation of network configurations and changes.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support network services and ensure seamless integration.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in network engineering and security.
