About the Job
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer (m/f/d) to join our portfolio company to lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of the network infrastructure, with a primary focus on ensuring high security and performance standards.
In your day-to-day work, you will oversee the selection and integration of network technologies, including firewalls and switching solutions, while maintaining flexibility to evaluate and adopt new technologies based on evolving business needs. Manage network setups for critical environments, such as cleanrooms and semiconductor operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and high operational standards.

• Define and implement network security protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Optimise network performance across LAN, WLAN, and WAN for high efficiency and minimal downtime
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies for firewalls, switching, and routing based on evolving business needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to minimise disruptions
• Establish network infrastructure for cleanroom environments, ensuring high reliability and strict security measures
• Implement network automation strategies for task monitoring and efficiency improvements
• Collaborate with IT departments to align network strategies with business goals
• Maintain detailed network documentation and mentor other team members
• Continuously optimise network scalability and performance
• Enhance disaster recovery and business continuity with effective network recovery protocols

Your Profile

• 5+ years of expertise in network segmentation to ensure optimal security, compliance, and performance across different network zones
• Strong troubleshooting skills, including root cause analysis and quick resolution of network issues across LAN, WLAN, and WAN
• Proven experience in optimising high-performance networks for critical environments like cleanrooms and semiconductor operations
• Experience with firewalls (FortiGate) and network security measures for secure and segmented infrastructures is a plus
• Experience in high-security environments: Proven ability to design, implement, and manage highly secure networks, including those with offline or air-gapped segments
• Brings extensive IT experience beyond networking, with a strong security mindset and proven expertise in multiple IT domains
• Excellent communication skills in English is required (German is a plus)

Please note that we are looking for support in the Aachen office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
