About the Role As the Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end planning, design, implementation, support, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s data and voice network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring network services are secure, reliable, resilient, and scalable, enabling uninterrupted operations across the Premier’s Department, The Cabinet Office, and the Ministers’ Offices. The position provides expert technical leadership in managing complex network environments, including performance monitoring, incident troubleshooting, and timely resolution of issues, while ensuring compliance with relevant policies, standards, and architectural frameworks. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer proactively identifies risks and opportunities for improvement, implements best‑practice security controls, and contributes specialist advice to strategic planning and project delivery. The role collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to design and deliver high‑quality, future‑focused network solutions that support organisational priorities and evolving business requirements. We're Looking For Technical Capability: Provide technical leadership in network communications and advise management on new technologies and future innovation, to ensure the Department’s network continues to be agile, adaptable and supports user needs. CCNP or FCSS certification, experience in Fortinet, and Azure is highly regarded. Cyber Architecture: Well rounded across low to high levels of cyber architecture, with demonstrated capability spanning foundational infrastructure and controls through to complex, enterprise‑wide architectural design and strategic oversight. Stakeholder Leadership: Demonstrates proficiency in influencing, collaborating effectively, and resolving incidents within a team environment. Autonomy: Works independently with minimal supervision, manages priorities effectively, and takes initiative to resolve issues and improve processes.
