About the role We have an opportunity for 4 x Senior Network Engineers to be part of our Network & Security Platform Services, Technology & Communication Services Command team. The Senior Network Engineer provides high-level network engineering support for a diverse range of data and communications network infrastructure, including core networks, and remote site connectivity. This involves overseeing the installation, monitoring, and maintenance of NSWPF network and performance. The Network and Security Platform Services Directorate is responsible for the connectivity and security that underpins policing across NSW Police Force (NSWPF). The team manages and maintains enterprise network and security services supporting over 550 NSWPF remote sites, as well as key data centres and core technology platforms. The Directorate enables secure and reliable connection of users and devices to NSWPF systems, ensures the delivery of data across the statewide network, and maintains strong control of network boundaries, security and data flows. This includes responsibility for NSWPF telecommunication services and the interoperability and connectivity between internal applications, external services and connected devices. The Network Platform is seeking to recruit four (4) Senior Network Engineers (CSO5) across multiple specialist domains to join the Network and Security Platform Services Directorate. These roles operate within four specialist streams and report directly to the Network Platform Owner. In addition to domain specific responsibilities, the roles will contribute to broader capacity driven work across the platform. These positions play a critical part in the design, operation, optimisation and support of enterprise scale data and voice network services that are foundational to both frontline policing and corporate operations across the NSW Police Force. As a Senior Network Engineer (CSO5), you will: Provide deep technical leadership within your specialist domain Influence design standards, architectures and roadmaps Resolve complex incidents and systemic service issues Mentor engineers and uplift operational maturity Work closely with service delivery, project, other government agencies and vendor partners These roles require strong technical capability, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a large, complex enterprise environment. Successful candidates will be aligned to one of the following specialist domains: LAN/WAN (Enterprise Networking) Service Maintenance (Monitoring, Observability & Optimisation) Service Performance (Operations, Stability & Lifecycle Management) Voice and Telephony (Unified Communications & Telephony Platform) To be considered for this role, applicants must demonstrate: Minimum CCNP level certification (or higher) in a relevant discipline. Examples include (but are not limited to): CCNP Enterprise (LAN/WAN) CCNP Collaboration (Voice) CCNP Service Provider or equivalent relevant CCNP Equivalent vendor certifications or demonstrable equivalent experience may be considered where appropriate. Proven experience working in large, complex enterprise environments.
