NSW Police Force is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to drive the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise-grade network infrastructure across NSW Police Force sites. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of a team modernising network and security platform services supporting police officers statewide, ensuring it meets the demand of contemporary law enforcement. The Critical Network Program of work runs until June 2030. The Senior Network Engineer will have the opportunity to collaborate across multiple commands, gaining exposure to different challenges and solutions. Corporate telephony, emergency and non-emergency call centre capabilities We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead the modernisation of the NSW Police Force’s digital infrastructure with a focus on unified communications. This role provides advanced engineering support across core networks and remote site connectivity, ensuring seamless integration of voice, video, messaging, and collaboration services. Responsibilities include driving the design, implementing, and optimising enterprise unified communications solutions, managing the transition of legacy voice services to support implementation of Software defined networks, refreshing wireless infrastructure for high performance Wi-Fi coverage, and overseeing the replacement of legacy hardware. The position requires monitoring and troubleshooting complex connectivity issues, maintaining network security, scalability, and compliance, and ensuring interoperability across platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Cisco Unified Communication Manager, Cisco Unified Contact Centre Express (UCCX) and Webex. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in unified communications architecture, advanced knowledge of SD-WAN and enterprise Wi-Fi technologies, proficiency in network security services including firewalls and VPNs, and experience in routing and switching protocols, network segmentation, and large-scale infrastructure transitions.
