JOB SUMMARY

Ofgem leads the way for the energy industry and requires secure, resilient, and future-ready network infrastructure to support our critical mission. We’re looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join us and help us transform our IT infrastructure with cutting-edge solutions and expert management.
Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We’re at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers - especially vulnerable people.
We’re offering a permanent role where you’ll play a central part in evolving our network infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work with next generation networking technologies, including Microsoft Azure Cloud Network Services and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture. You’ll be empowered to make a real impact, supporting a robust and innovative infrastructure that will shape Ofgem’s digital journey.
This role sits within a close-knit, agile team that values flexibility, collaboration, and continuous learning, and you will work alongside experienced colleagues who will support your development and growth. As a Senior Network Engineer, you’ll experience a dynamic work environment with opportunities to develop your skills across multiple areas in networking and security.
We’re looking for someone with end-to-end knowledge of server infrastructure and expertise in troubleshooting network issues. You’ll be a confident, self-starting professional who can work independently within an agile, small team. Experience with firewalls is essential, and candidates should have the ability to achieve and maintain SC clearance.
At Ofgem, we pride ourselves on offering exceptional flexible working options. With only 20% of your time required in the office, you’ll have the freedom to balance your work environment to suit your needs. We empower you to make the space your own, ensuring you have the flexibility to thrive both personally and professionally. You’ll also be part of a supportive culture that values work-life balance, providing a fantastic opportunity to grow within a dynamic and collaborative team.
We have a critical purpose to support and regulate the energy industry and a vital part of that involves building and maintaining an advanced, secure network infrastructure. By bringing your skills to this role, you’ll be helping to ensure stability, security, and connectivity in a rapidly changing environment.
