Description
Description We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, engineer, administer, and support mission-critical classified network services across multiple enclaves and locations. This role ensures high availability, strong security posture, and rapid recovery objectives while delivering reliable connectivity and operational excellence across a complex enterprise environment. Responsibilities Engineer, administer, and support classified network infrastructure (routing, switching, segmentation, addressing, traffic flows, and topology management). Design and develop architectural models for classified networks; implement secure, effective solutions aligned to approved standards. Configure, document, and manage network devices and topologies; maintain accurate logical/physical diagrams and system documentation/SOPs. Monitor and respond to network/system alerts; perform incident troubleshooting, remediation, and reporting to maintain availability and performance. Support operations across a distributed footprint, including data center network connectivity and coordination with other support centers. Participate in change and configuration management: validate changes in a lab/replica environment, document implementation/backout steps, and follow change control processes. Support classified connectivity requirements, including interfaces to external classified networks (as applicable to the environment). Partner with systems, security, and operations teams to ensure solutions meet or exceed security standards and compliance requirements. Provide escalation support beyond the Service Desk and contribute to continuous performance improvement initiatives. Provide on-site support at primary facilities and travel as needed for incident resolution and deployments. Requirements Required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 10+ years of network engineering experience in enterprise environments. Experience designing and supporting complex routed/switched networks (LAN/WAN), network segmentation, and enterprise addressing/routing schemes. Strong troubleshooting skills across connectivity and performance issues in production environments with strict uptime requirements. Hands-on experience with network monitoring/alerting, incident response, and producing clear engineering documentation/SOPs. Experience working within formal change control / configuration management processes (lab validation, implementation plans, backout procedures, documentation updates). Active TS/clearance and ability to comply with all onsite and security requirements. Preferred Cisco and/or Juniper enterprise experience (routing/switching), including large-scale operations. Experience supporting high-assurance/classified network environments, including encryption/crypto ecosystems and secure network integrations. Familiarity with environments using Type-1 encryptors, cross-domain workflows, and tightly controlled removable media processes. Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, Security+ (or equivalent). Experience supporting data center environments and integrated infrastructure stacks (compute/virtualization/storage) in support of network services.
Responsibilities
The role involves engineering, administering, and supporting mission-critical classified network services, focusing on designing and implementing secure architectural models aligned with approved standards.
