A Network Engineer designs solutions, integrates, configures, deploys, tests, and provides ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies, ensuring network security, performance, and availability. Tasks include system performance optimization and dataflow management, connecting front-end and back-end components, developing network and mission architectures to meet mission requirements, leading dynamic installation projects, and performing network accreditations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform networking services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks Analyze design specifications and related documents to perform general LAN administration Schedule all changes and cutovers within the network and work to resolve network or system incidents Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN’s, firewall contexts, VoIP, GRE Tunneling, IPSec, IP Encryption, MoIP, and NAT Active TS/SCI with Polygraph Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, and ten (10) years experience in network engineering or a Bachelor’s and twelve (12) years of experience Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 3 baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M Cisco certification
