Description
SAIC is looking for a Top Secret cleared Network Engineer with experience in US Navy IT networks to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a newly deployed naval enterprise transport network, ensuring 24/7/365 availability and reliability. The position will support end-to-end network, system, and element visibility; facilitate rapid operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning to maintaining the operational integrity of a mission-critical network, requiring both technical expertise and a commitment to excellence in service delivery. Specific duties include: Provide Tier 1 level engineering operations support to quickly identify, triage, and address outages, analyzing symptoms and potential root causes to implement effective resolutions or escalate to Tier 2/Tier 3 support as required Utilize advanced monitoring tools and processes to oversee network infrastructure, monitor the performance and availability of managed services and systems across multiple exchange points, and ensure optimal performance Perform day to day maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, software and hardware updates, and deploymentsAdhere to system and operational reporting obligations Operate and maintain the privileged access solutions Maintain continuous verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures Operate and maintain hardware upgrade process and procedures Update and maintain any software builds applicable to deployed equipment Enact change management for the solution Operate and maintain existing incident management processes Keep firmware, software updates and patches up to date for equipment Support the design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities Support analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling Conducts testing of network systems Support the evaluation of new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network Required Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience supporting a large network infrastructure 4 years of additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree Required Security Clearance: Secret Clearance required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Required Skills and Experience: Experience required with: Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP); Access Control Lists; Layer 2 Switching; Spanning Tree; Packet Analysis; SPINE-LEAF architecture Experience with the following is a plus: Arista switches; Palo Alto Firewalls; TAP and network visibility (i.e. Gigamon, NetScout); SD-WAN and Spine-Leaf Architecture; working with VLANs and VRFs; configuring IPSEC tunnels; and troubleshooting routing issues Working knowledge of SD-WAN, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices Understanding of TCP/IP in regard to routing and subnetting Capable of supporting TACACS+ on Cisco ISE and ISE Cube Required Certifications: IAT Level II required (Sec +), CCNA/CCNP Working Environment and Travel: Able to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment Able to cover on-call schedule on a rotating basis Travel up to 25%25 may be required
