Role Description This is a contract Senior Network Engineer role based in Melbourne, VIC, offered in a hybrid arrangement that combines onsite work with some work-from-home flexibility. The Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures supporting enterprise voice, data, video, and unified communication solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices; monitoring performance; and optimizing network availability and reliability. The role involves diagnosing and resolving network incidents, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing preventive measures. The Senior Network Engineer will collaborate with internal teams and clients, contribute to technical documentation, and support project delivery and upgrades aligned with best practices and security standards.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design, including experience architecting and deploying enterprise-scale networks.
• Proficiency in Network Administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of switches, routers, and related infrastructure.
• Advanced Troubleshooting abilities to diagnose complex network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolutions.
• Solid understanding of Network Security principles, including firewall policies, VPNs, access control, and best practices for securing enterprise environments.
• Experience with unified communications, enterprise voice, and data networking solutions in medium to large organizations.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent vendor certifications are highly valued.
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in hybrid teams.
• Demonstrated experience in project-based work, including planning, implementation, and post-deployment support.
