DEPARTMENT INFORMATION

The Department of Finance has the mandate to provide leadership and direction to the public service in all areas of finance and human resource management. This mandate includes negotiating major financial arrangements with the federal government, providing analysis and advice to the Financial Management Board, and ensuring that financial and information resources are managed effectively, efficiently and economically. This mandate also includes the recruitment and retention of a competent public service that is representative of the people it serves and the development of programs and services that effectively serve the human resource needs of the public service.

TYPICALLY, THE ABOVE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE ATTAINED BY:

A degree in a related Network Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems program and three years of experience in server and network administration, IP data network support and operations.

A related Diploma: Maybe you¿ve earned a diploma in a relevant field like Network Technologies, Information Technology, or a similar program with a strong focus on networking. Paired with solid five years of experience.

  • Server and Network Administration: You know your way around keeping servers and networks running like a well-oiled machine. Think configuration, maintenance, and keeping everything secure.
  • IP Data Network Support and Operations: You¿re fluent in the language of IP addresses and can troubleshoot network issues like a pro, ensuring data flows smoothly.
  • Network security (keeping the bad guys out)
  • TCIP/IP (the fundamental language of the internet)
  • VOIP services (making calls over the net, including critical 911/811 systems)
  • Integrating with Cloud technologies
  • Complex Routing Protocols (navigating the intricate pathway of the network)
