What makes this project exciting? null What makes you a great fit An established digital platform is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join a dynamic and highly collaborative team. In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain the backend infrastructure that powers the platform, ensuring it is secure, scalable, and optimized for user experience. The ideal candidate is mission‑driven, passionate about high‑quality engineering, excited about the intersection of data and digital health, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with both local and international teams. 7+ years of experience as a backend developer, with strong skills in Node.js and TypeScript 3+ years working with MongoDB Deep understanding of RESTful API design and Express.js Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6+) Solid understanding of production environments and debugging Expertise in performance optimization and scalable architecture Knowledge of software engineering principles (SOLID, design patterns, OOP/FP, TDD) Familiarity with the Node.js ecosystem (package managers, linters, best practices) Excellent communication skills, team mindset, and empathy Ability to work with US-based teams and across time zones Understanding of service-oriented and event-driven architecture Nice to Have Management or mentorship experience Experience with system architecture and modern frameworks Knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity, DevOps, or compliance Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent Your day-to-day in this position Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services Build RESTful APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.js Work with MongoDB databases and AWS services (ECS, SQS, EventBridge, Lambda, CloudWatch, SSM) Diagnose and resolve technical and production issues Identify and analyze performance bottlenecks Collaborate with cross-functional and cross-timezone teams Ensure system security, reliability, and best-practice architecture Carry requirements from early concept to full implementation Why work with us?
