Location: Baltimore, MD (North of Downtown)
Hourly Rate: $35.00 – $38.45 (DOE)
Position Summary
On behalf of our non-profit client we are seeking a Senior Accountant to support their Assistant Controller in overseeing key accounting operations. This role ensures accuracy and timeliness in invoicing, reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support, while strengthening internal controls and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Review and process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer invoices.
Record cash receipts and monitor outstanding balances.
Prepare and post journal entries; complete monthly and annual reconciliations.
Manage accounting for fixed assets and leases.
Partner with leadership to improve AP, AR, and GL processes.
Support year-end financial audits with schedules and documentation.
Provide timely, professional responses to internal and external inquiries.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4 + years of accounting experience, in a non-profit environment.
Strong knowledge of AP, AR, GL, and close processes.
Ability to handle high-volume workload with accuracy and deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required); experience with cloud-based systems preferred.
Hands-on experience with SAGE Intacct, Bill.com, and/or ADP is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.This is an immediate full-time on-site need. Hybrid work schedule, Baltimore, MD location.
