Job Responsibility Be responsible for new product introduction – support design transfer activities to ensure component design maturity and availability such as component classification, DFM and qualification, etc. Be responsible for component qualification planning and coordinate entire CQP process Coordinate planning, procuring, qualifying, and implementing new components for NPI Coordinate with global materials and planning team to drive NPI supply chain-related deliverables outside of the factory Contributes towards continuously improving global standard work and application of NPI design transfer of BEC LS products Supports specific project as NPI engineer role Qualification: Functional Knowledge: Requires conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines Requires knowledge and experience of supplier/component feasibility assessment and producibility review Requires conceptual and practical expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Drawing Review. Understand Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) and Critical-to-Function (CTF) requirements of components with insight from manufacturing perspective Requires manufacturing or process engineering knowledge, including DFM (Design for Manufacturability), Design for Service/Assembly (DFx), lean conversion and six sigma/variation reduction Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Applies project management concept and skills (e.g., cost modeling/estimating, scheduling, resource management, risk management, capital expenditure planning) Business Expertise Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Applies project management concept and skills (e.g., cost modeling/estimating, scheduling, resource management, risk management, capital expenditure planning). Leadership: Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements Be capable of acting as design transfer lead for minor project or design change Problem Solving: Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information Solves technical problems in the design transfer and design change process to improve the product quality and delivery with cost control. Evaluates the interaction between components and instrument performance, and work with RD and suppliers to resolve issues through the part drawing/spec release process.
