Description:
Title: Occupational Therapist
Minimum Qualification: Bachelors in Occupational Therapy, Masters preferred
DHA License eligibility is a must.
Location: Al Barsha, Dubai
Reporting to: Program Supervisor/Program Director and Head of Department
Principal responsibility: Ensure effective and efficient delivery of Occupational therapy services based on BE’s quality standards for students from age 1.5 years to 10 years (most students fall in this age group, but older students may be allotted). This role includes carrying out OT assessments, choosing appropriate goals, and working with students in one-on-one and group settings.
· Perform relevant and necessary occupational therapy assessments and evaluations and write corresponding reports.
· Design and implement structured and individualized treatment occupational therapy programs to teach each child.
· Conduct 1:1 or group therapy for a minimum of 30 hours/week
· Collect data and maintain documentation pertaining to each child’s program.
· Provide ongoing guidance within each client’s individual program, ensuring each client’s continued progress towards realizing their maximum potential.
· Communicate questions, child’s progress, or other feedback to parents, Program Supervisor, and other therapists from speech & ABA departments.
· Write progress reports to secure funding from insurance agencies using sound occupational therapy terminology.
· Write school observation reports highlighting the child’s strengths and areas of need, as well as recommendations for school staff, for the school and the child’s family.
· Arrive on time to all scheduled sessions, minimal cancellations.
· Maintain accurate and timely records including timesheets and reports.
· Collect and record data and update session notes during each session
· Prepare materials and resources relevant to conducting therapy
· Complete and attend all mandatory trainings, including online and off-line trainings
· Complete all necessary paperwork as directed by consultants or administrative staff.
· Provide such other services as are ancillary to the foregoing or as the employer may reasonably request
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Valid DHA License
- Minimum 4 years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) is a must.
- Enthusiastic with high–energy levels.
- Be creative and have problem–solving skills –to design programs appropriate to different learning styles
- Be able to work independently, as well as part of the multi–disciplinary team.
