Description:

Are you an experienced, registered Band 6 Senior Occupational Therapist, motivated to make a difference for young people facing complex mental health challenges? We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time, 37.5 hours per week position within CAMHS, based in Erlegh House, University of Reading campus.
The Specialist Community Teams (SCT) offer assessment and intervention within a multi-disciplinary context to children and young people presenting with complex, comorbid or high-risk mental health disorders. Our team is set up to work with children and young people under the following pathways, Trauma, Depression and Emotional Dysregulation. There is also a growing number of young people are neurodivergent young people and often those young people do not fit a pathway and need more focused work to be done with the parents and professional networks to think about what that young person needs and what adaptations can be made.
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our multi-disciplinary team to be responsible for the assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of Occupational Therapy care plans.
The role includes delivering care to young people both individually in the young person’s home, school and via digital media. You will be expected to work within this complex and variable setting, without direct supervision. You will report to and work in collaboration with senior colleagues, to deliver a high standard of evidence-based care.
Ideally, you will have some experience in CAMHS, be thoughtful and reflective, and have the flexibility to integrate into a multi-disciplinary team.
You’ll find we offer a positive team environment. We’re welcoming, compassionate, and prioritise wellbeing. We’re committed to making work enjoyable and rewarding. Caseloads are protected and manageable despite a waitlist for treatment.
We welcome applications within our service hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday. You’ll be predominantly based in Reading but will also be required to cover our sites and localities at Wokingham and at Lower Henwick Farm, West Berkshire.

Responsibilities:

Qualification relevant to working in a CAMHS service.
Experience of working in Mental Health services.
The ability to manage a complex caseload.
For further information about the role, please see attached job description and person specification.
We strongly encourage you to review how you meet the criteria in the person specification and write about this point-by-point in your supporting statement for the best chance of being shortlisted.
We’re committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Our commitment to inclusion is reflected in our accreditations: Race Equality Matters Silver Trailblazer, Neurodiversity in Business Corporate Member, Disability Confident Leader, Carer Confident Level 2, and the Armed Forces Covenant Gold Award. Reasonable adjustments will be provided to candidates as needed.
We welcome a conversation about flexibility and any other questions you may have. Please don’t hesitate to contact: Christina Subrai by email on christina.subrai@berkshire.nhs.uk who’ll be delighted to help.
Please note, if we receive a high number of applications, we may close this role earlier than the advertised closing date, so please submit your application as soon as possible
