About the Role As a key OT you will: Manage a community-based caseload aligned to your clinical interests and experience Conduct comprehensive assessments across emotional, cognitive, developmental, psychosocial, and physical domains Develop and implement individualised, evidence-based therapy plans Provide environmental modification recommendations for homes, schools, workplaces, and supported living environments Prescribe and support the implementation of Assistive Technology (AT) to promote independence and participation Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, and other health professionals Ensure compliance with NDIS guidelines and relevant legislation Qualifications What You’ll Bring Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist 3–5 years of post-graduate experience, ideally within disability or community settings Strong communication skills and confidence working with complex presentations A proactive, client-centred approach and desire to help grow local services Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team culture Interest in a preferred caseload area (e.g. paediatrics, complex needs, functional capacity assessments) — we’ll tailor this together If you’re an experienced OT looking to broaden your impact, grow your career, and help shape services in Cairns, Ability Action Australia offers the support, flexibility, and opportunities to do just that.
