Are you looking to further your Occupational Therapy career in a recovery oriented, occupation-focused, supportive multidisciplinary service?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to lead the OT team at The Chichester Centre, providing mental health care and treatment for men and women, in conditions of low security. The service is dynamic, forward-thinking, and always looking for ways to improve. We are a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services and actively engage in the Peer Review cycle as well as other quality assurance visits.
We offer a commitment to staff support, regular supervision and CPD; an opportunity to gain specialist experience in forensic practice; encouragement and support to undertake training and professional development and opportunities to be involved with research.
Informal discussions and/ or visits are welcome.
To manage a caseload of clients with the regular support and supervision of a professional supervisor, using occupation focused, evidence based and client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
To provide Occupational Therapy interventions as part of a multidisciplinary approach to meeting the health and social care needs of people who use our services.
To contribute to and facilitate Occupational Therapy interventions including individual and group work within the centre and accessing community resources.
The Chichester Centre has 49 beds across 3 wards; two wards for men, and one for women. Each ward has a full multidisciplinary team comprising nursing, medical, social work and psychology colleagues in addition to OT. There is also a drama therapist who works across the unit, and we have volunteers who come in to facilitate specific activities. Interventions are offered on an individual and group basis, both within the centre and through accessing the community.
