Job Description The Senior Officer Logistics at Avery Dennison Pakistan is responsible for managing end-to-end import logistics operations to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain execution. The role oversees shipment planning, customs clearance coordination, CAD/LC processing, freight contract management, and FTA/SRO utilization while serving as a key liaison between suppliers, freight forwarders, clearing agents, banks, and internal departments including Procurement, Planning, Finance, and Warehouse. The position ensures accurate documentation, proactive shipment tracking, KPI monitoring, risk mitigation, and continuous cost optimization initiatives to support uninterrupted business operations and overall supply chain efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Import & Customs Operations Management Lead end-to-end clearance of import shipments by coordinating with clearing agents and freight forwarders. Ensure accurate and timely submission of import documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements. Manage and monitor customs clearance processes to avoid demurrage and detention charges. Maintain complete documentation records for audits and internal compliance. Financial & Regulatory Compliance Coordinate issuance and management of CAD/LC in collaboration with banks and finance teams. Ensure compliance with SBP regulations and internal financial controls. Validate shipping and commercial documents to prevent discrepancies and delays. Freight & Cost Optimization Negotiate annual sea freight and monthly air freight contracts to secure competitive rates. Monitor freight market trends and proactively mitigate rate fluctuations. Achieved significant freight savings through optimized contract management. Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic freight planning and vendor evaluation. FTA & Duty Optimization Lead application of FTA/SRO benefits for imports from China and explore other sites as well Deliver substantial cost savings through proactive regulatory utilization. Shipment Tracking & KPI Management Proactively track shipment milestones and escalate delays. Provide visibility updates to procurement, planning, and finance teams. Monitor KPIs related to lead time, clearance cycle time, and service levels. Ensure uninterrupted material availability to avoid production disruption. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Procurement, Planning, Finance, and Warehouse teams. Resolve documentation discrepancies and operational bottlenecks. Support internal stakeholders with shipment forecasting and logistics planning. Process Improvement & Innovation Contribute to Procure-to-Pay workflow enhancement. Support dashboard development for improved shipment and spend visibility. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transparency and operational efficiency. Qualifications Preferred Skills: Planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability. Effective communication and stakeholder management with strong follow-up. High integrity and ethical standards in Logistics practices Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field. 2-3 years of relevant work experience in Supply Chain or Logistics Knowledge of tracking related web tools Familiarity with Customs policies, SROs and FTAs will be an added advantage.
