About the Team Lifetime Learner Experience (LLE) Unit is part of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Students portfolio and was formed to enable the alignment of a range of learner acquisition, administration and assurance activities which are critical to the success of the UTS 2027 Strategy and in supporting the UTS Vision. UTS Scholarships sits within the Future Learners team and supports the establishment, promotion, selection, and ongoing recipient management of over 130 UTS coursework scholarships and prizes. Staff in this team must work collaboratively with other teams within LLE to ensure deadlines are met and outcomes achieved, particularly during peak times. This position may be affected by leave exclusion periods. About the Role The Senior Officers, UTS Scholarships support the achievement of UTS goals through effective coordination of scholarship, prize and Commonwealth Practicum Payment (CPP) functions. This is achieved through effective planning and high-level analysis of the external and internal environment related to student scholarships, CPP and prizes, solving problems and providing advice to peers, customers and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with legislation and policy. This advertisement relates to up to two available positions. If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for: • Managing and coordinating a wide range of scholarship and CPP activities, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to service standards.• Resolving complex issues using sound judgment beyond standard policy by consulting and negotiating within university frameworks.• Providing expert advice to stakeholders, administering the full scholarship/CPP lifecycle from application to payment, monitoring, auditing, and compliance with UTS and government policies.• Utilising CASS system for accurate reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement, including system enhancements and peer training.• Leading and supporting staff through training, process documentation, and guidance on handling complex scholarship and CPP matters.• Contributing to policy compliance by reviewing and interpreting legislation, ensuring fair and consistent processes, and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships. Demonstrated ability to use required technology (e.g., student information systems, Microsoft Suite) with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, including the capability to train, support others, and troubleshoot problems.2. High level of accuracy with figures and advanced numeracy skills, including the ability to manipulate and analyse data from various sources.3. Ability to interpret and adhere to relevant University rules, policies, and procedures, and to support others in their application and understanding.4. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to proactively identify issues, provide advice, and exercise sound judgement in key areas of responsibility.5. Extensive experience working independently and within teams to support a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders in complex technical or administrative environments. Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $97,332 - $105,385 pa (HEW 6) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary. There are two full-time fixed-term positions available: one for a duration of 12 months and the other for 24 months.
