JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer to manage and maintain multi-tenant OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Red Hat OpenShift on AWS (ROSA) environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for workload segregation and distribution, cluster scaling, and implementing robust automation and monitoring solutions. This role requires hands-on expertise with Kubernetes-based microservices management, access control, and CI/CD integration.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience managing OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters in enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in managing multi-tenant OpenShift and ROSA environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Operators, workload segregation, and scaling strategies.
  • Proficiency with automation tools (Ansible) and monitoring solutions (Grafana, Prometheus).
  • In-depth knowledge of access and authorization management using LDAP and Role-based Access Control (RBAC).
  • Experience with container registry management, including GitHub and Quay.
  • Strong knowledge of performance monitoring, capacity management, and audit logging.
  • Familiarity with IBM CloudPak for Integration/Application is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Platform Management:
  • Manage and maintain multi-tenant OCP and ROSA platforms with a strong focus on workload segregation, distribution, and efficient cluster scaling.
  • Perform Red Hat OpenShift version upgrades and ensure smooth platform transitions with minimal downtime.
  • Implement and manage Operators’ installation and upgrades to support platform extensions.
  • Microservices and Cluster Management:
  • Oversee Kubernetes cluster-based microservices, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
  • Apply best practices for workload distribution and container orchestration.
  • Access and Authorization Control:
  • Implement fine-grained access control using Roles and LDAP users/groups.
  • Regularly audit access policies to maintain security and compliance.
  • Automation and Monitoring:
  • Leverage automation tools (e.g., Ansible) to streamline housekeeping tasks and platform maintenance.
  • Set up and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions using Grafana and Prometheus to proactively detect issues and optimize performance.
  • Image Registry and License Management:
  • Manage image registries using GitHub and Quay Cluster, ensuring secure and efficient image storage and retrieval.
  • Maintain license compliance and manage entitlements.
  • Audit Logging and Performance Monitoring:
  • Implement and manage audit log systems to ensure traceability and compliance.
  • Monitor performance metrics and manage capacity planning to sustain platform health.
  • DevOps and CI/CD Support:
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to integrate the platform with CI/CD pipelines and streamline deployment processes.
  • Maintain compatibility and integration with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and other CI/CD platforms.
  • IBM CloudPak Support (Preferred):
  • Support integration and application deployment using IBM CloudPak for Integration/Application (added advantage).
