JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations in a high-volume cooked meat processing facility specializing in pizza toppings. This role ensures that production, quality assurance (QA), maintenance, and sanitation departments function efficiently and cohesively to meet production targets, maintain food safety standards, and maximize profitability. The successful candidate will be action-oriented, solutions-driven, and capable of resolving daily operational challenges quickly and decisively.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, preferably in meat processing or cooked food facilities.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Strong understanding of QA, HACCP, food safety, and regulatory compliance in meat production.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and decision-making skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
  • Proficient in using and optimizing operational data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence and lead across departments.
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages considered an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise daily plant operations, ensuring coordination between QA, production, sanitation, and maintenance teams.
  • Monitor and optimize operational performance to meet cost, quality, safety, and delivery goals.
  • Act as a bridge between department heads, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and urgency in decision-making.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement real-time solutions to minimize downtime and maximize throughput.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety regulations (CFIA, HACCP), health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Support the implementation of continuous improvement practices in workflow, equipment usage, and staff productivity.
  • Conduct daily operational reviews and ensure shift handovers include all critical updates.
  • Oversee staffing levels and shift scheduling to align with production forecasts and efficiency goals.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and mentorship to supervisors and line leads.
  • Participate in budgeting, cost control, and resource planning in coordination with finance and executive leadership.
  • Monitor key operational KPIs such as yields, downtime, labor cost per unit, and departmental synergy.
  • Lead by example to promote a safe, respectful, and results-oriented workplace culture.
