Description

Description The Senior Operations Supervisor assists Operations or Operations Manager in the day-to-day functions and running of the warehouse floor operations. This position reports to Operations or Senior Operations Manager and has oversight and responsibility for supervising warehouse floor supervisors. This position is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day success of the operations in the facilities’(s) they supervise. This position also handles high-level reporting and metrics and is responsible for reporting to senior operations management on the status of operations. Requirements Key Responsibilities and Duties: · Schedule and manage workers in operations or plant to ensure efficiency. He or she determines the labor hours needed and the quantity of certain items to be received, stocked, picked, inventoried, cleaned, and/or shipped. · Ensures that all processes run smoothly and that workers are meeting all safety requirements · Provide managers, peers, and subordinates with information about quality, safety, delivery, cost, and morale. · Work with strict demands and budgets, so that they can set production schedules. · Monitor activity and make sure that daily quotas are met by keeping workers on task and informed of procedural changes. If production falls behind for any reason, a supervisor can determine the best ways to get back on schedule. · Designs detailed product quality checklists and monitor items as they are constructed. Every item is scrutinized before it can be packaged and shipped. A supervisor might perform personal inspections to ensure that orders are compliant and that associates follow strict SWI process steps. · Monitor metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess productivity and cost management. · Moves Inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from the warehouse, coordinating inventory transfers with related departments · Maintains inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; securing warehouse; supervising staff. · Maintains inventory by conducting monthly physical counts, reconciling variances, and inputting data. · Help with the implementation of and continued adherence to Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives. Focusing on LEAN techniques, quality management processes, and cost control methodologies within the operations to achieve company goals & profit levels; continued business growth; and long-term relationships with customers. · Assess and analyze current practices and drive improvements. · Partners and coordinates with management, peers, subordinates, and other internal departments to resolve issues and concerns. · Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required · Lead by example of positive reinforcement and make RK Logistics a World Class company. · Maintains good partnerships with customers by responding to their needs and requirements. Provide company focal point for customer visits. · Other duties as assigned Abilities: · Experience with process improvement methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness · Understanding of RF scanners and standardized processes · Knowledge of picking, receiving, and shipping processes, hands-on experience preferred · Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills · A strong sense of urgency and drive to succeed · Integrity · Demonstrates ability to interact well with others and follow instructions · Flexibility and ability to adjust to sudden changes in operational goals · Ability to read and write, comprehend basic checklists, forms, or other documents · Ability to follow oral and written directions · Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, or reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, kneel, crouch · Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. unassisted while using safe lifting techniques Qualifications and Skills needed: · High school diploma or equivalent · Proven experience in a similar role · 3-5 years of experience in the logistics field or any other related industry · 3-5 years of management experience · Forklift certification is a strong plus · Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation · Excellent communication and leadership skills · Strong math and writing skills · Intermediate computer skills, SAP experience is a plus, Microsoft Office Suite is a must · LEAN understanding with the ability to fully execute 5S and 7S · Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification is a plus · Understanding of logistics, shipping, receiving, and transportation · Knowledge of inventory control · Knowledge of handheld RF equipment · Great communication and soft skills RK Qualities Adherence to all RK Safety, Quality, ISO and HR policies and standards RK Logistics Group will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act.
