Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Lead Project Management Specialist – Integrated Planning & Scheduling - Program Scheduler to support our dynamic Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) team in Huntsville, Alabama.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • More than 5 years of experience in change management, program planning, project management, integrated scheduling, Industrial Engineering, or Business Operations
  • More than 5 years of experience integrating supplier or partner plans and schedules in to Program schedule and managing the integrated Master schedule at the Program level
  • More than 5 years of experience in leading cross functional teams.
  • More than 5 years’ experience using Integrated scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Open Plan Professional, Primavera, etc.
  • More than 5 years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) applying Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) requirements
  • Experience preparing and presenting material to senior and executive leadership, and external customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a business or technical field
  • More than 5 years of work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Senior Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.
Lead Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years’ related work experience, 19 years’ related work experience, etc.

Responsibilities

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES – SENIOR LEVEL 4:

  • Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry
  • Leads studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives in accordance with DFARS and Earned Value contractual requirements
  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case
  • Develops and establishes lead time requirements
  • Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry
  • Acts as primary project scheduling contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives
  • Directs all phases of project schedules or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion
  • Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies
  • Accountable for schedule compliance, assessment of schedule risk, identification ofopportunities (including schedule margin planning), and providing robust/actionable performance reporting from the IMS to support and drive program management understanding and action
  • Model driving program execution through quick turn generation of prospective schedule performance analyses, recovery/alternate scenario planning, and improved schedulevisibility/visualization

  • Oversees, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for highly complex or difficult projects, programs and change driven activities to execute in accordance with project management industry standards
  • Directs and provides high level studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), determines scope, reports, and oversight of planning requests
  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case
  • Develops and executes the process and strategy for the integration of plans and schedules
  • Consults and recommends integrated planning, scheduling, change and baseline management, processes, techniques and tools to management considered to be best practices across the industry
  • Recognized as primary project schedule contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives
  • Authorizes scheduling commitment of resources by obtaining approvals from stakeholders
  • Oversees deployment of approved program scheduling recommendations at Division, Business Unit, and/or Enterprise levels
  • Accountable for schedule compliance, assessment of schedule risk, identification ofopportunities (including schedule margin planning), and providing robust/actionable performance reporting from the IMS to support and drive program management understanding and action
  • Model driving program execution through quick turn generation of prospective schedule performance analyses, recovery/alternate scenario planning, and improved schedulevisibility/visualization
  • Provides training, coaching, mentoring, and leadership to lower-level employees
  • Provides subject matter expertise in the development, implementation, and training of processes and tools
