This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior or Principal Software Engineer in EMEA. As a Senior or Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing high-impact cloud-native solutions while collaborating with multiple global engineering teams. You’ll work on cutting-edge container and Kubernetes technologies, driving innovation and scalability for complex enterprise environments. This position offers the opportunity to influence architectural decisions, contribute to open-source communities, and help shape future product releases. You’ll operate in a collaborative, agile environment that values initiative, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing. Accountabilities Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of advanced computing, networking, and security solutions within a large-scale cloud ecosystem. Actively contribute to open-source projects, particularly in the Kubernetes and container space, using Go (Golang) and Python. Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including architecture, product management, and DevOps — to identify and prioritize new features. Participate in peer code reviews, continuous integration (CI) processes, and quality assurance efforts to maintain high development standards. Drive feature development across upstream Kubernetes, midstream OKD, and downstream OpenShift environments. Engage with key open-source communities to influence project direction and ensure strong alignment with customer needs. Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to optimize coding efficiency and quality. Proven expertise in Go (Golang) and deep knowledge of cloud-native development principles. Strong background in Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. In-depth understanding of AWS services including EC2, VPC, Load Balancers, IAM, and CloudFormation. Experience in technical leadership or architecture roles, balancing functionality, performance, and scalability. Proficiency in collaborative, agile environments with strong written and verbal communication in English. Familiarity with Python, Bash, or managed Kubernetes services (ROSA, EKS, etc.) is a plus.
