Your Team The Hosting Database team is part of Technology Infrastructure. We are responsible for the management of business-critical database applications across ASX and for providing database design, deployment and support to major projects. We are building an exciting new capability for the delivery of business-critical database services in AWS. You will have the opportunity to help drive this initiative. Your responsibilities: Design, deploy and support scalable and secure database solutions in AWS Aurora and RDS Ensure high-availability, reliability and performance of critical database workloads in AWS, across multiple AZs and regions Work closely with project and engineering teams, to deliver and support critical projects Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and complex database incidents, as part of a 24/7 support roster Establish best practices and operational playbooks for support of AWS RDS/Aurora databases Build and use automation to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort and improve standardisation Mentor other team members and act as a subject-matter expert in your specialist area Prepare and maintain clear documentation of systems, processes and procedures to support knowledge sharing Must have: Recent experience as a project database administrator in a corporate environment Practical experience of building and migrating to AWS Aurora/RDS environments, ideally using PostgreSQL Strong technical skills in database design, deployment and support Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery solutions in a cloud environment Nice to have: Financial services industry experience or knowledge Practical experience supporting SQL Server or Oracle Database, whether in the cloud or on-premises Experience of other relevant AWS services such as DMS, Terraform, CloudWatch and Lambda functions Familiarity with Windows Server and/or Red Hat Enterprise Linux AWS, Microsoft, Oracle or other relevant certifications We make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values.
