Senior Oracle DB Programmer – Luxembourg (near site) – EU Public Institution Job role: Senior Oracle DB programmer. Location: Luxembourg (near site). Languages required: English (C1) (Mandatory). DESCRIPTION The Database Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining database solutions within Oracle Cloud environments. The role involves data analysis, data modelling, database integration, and ensuring alignment with best practices for secure, scalable, and high‑quality database systems. The specialist will collaborate with project teams, produce technical documentation, support deployments, conduct troubleshooting, and contribute to risk analysis and technical evaluations. Key tasks & responsibilities: · Perform data analysis and data modelling activities to support system requirements. · Design, implement, and maintain database structures in line with project and architectural needs. · Conduct reverse engineering of existing databases to document structures or support modernization. · Develop, maintain, and integrate database components, ensuring seamless interaction with other databases. · Produce and execute test programs to validate database functionality and performance. · Establish best practices for naming conventions, coding standards, and data modelling consistency. · Create and maintain technical documentation related to models, schemas, and database processes. · Provide support during deployment and configuration of database systems. · Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization tasks. · Deliver technical evaluations and audit reports on databases and related components. · Conduct risk analysis related to data integrity, performance, and system stability. · Participate in project team meetings, contributing technical insights and recommendations. Technical knowledge: · Oracle Cloud database and S3 Bucket: Minimum 1 year of specific experience. · Data modelling and database design tools: At least 5 years of experience using tools such as SQL Developer Data Modeler, Hackolade, or NoSQL Workbench. · Database development tools: At least 5 years of experience with development environments such as Oracle SQL Developer. · Relational database systems: Minimum 5 years of experience working with relational systems (e.g., Oracle). · SQL and PL/SQL expertise: At least 5 years of hands-on experience in SQL and PL/SQL development. · Database development best practices: A minimum of 5 years applying standardized development principles. · Database security: At least 2 years of experience ensuring database security and compliance. · Database architecture: Minimum 2 years of experience in designing or working with database architectures. · Database release management: At least 2 years of experience supporting or managing release processes. · Agile methodology: Minimum 2 years working in Agile environments. · Confluence and Jira: At least 2 years of experience using these collaboration and project‑tracking tools.
