Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

AECOM is seeking a Senior Organizational Strategist to join our growing Strategy+ practice to take leading roles in major infrastructure programs. This opportunity is based out of Mississauga, with opportunities for hybrid work available.

JOB SUMMARY:

We’re specifically looking for a highly motivated person that is ideally an organizational psychology and/or human resources specialist or possesses strong skills and experience in these disciplines. You also have a rare blend of real-world experience and theory, a passion for challenging traditional wisdom, the right mix of boardroom polish and grassroots hustle and is comfortable blurring the lines between the rigor of strategy and the creative.
You will join our multidisciplinary team of talented strategists, architects, data analysts, organizational psychologists, planners, and designers to support projects which encompass world class corporations, agencies, institutions, universities & colleges, and local and federal government.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, including but not limited to: Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Psychology, Business Administration plus 6 (six) years of related experience in organizational design, change management, human resources, program management and developing and implementing new ways of thinking and working.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and education may be considered.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

A T-shaped individual that asks thought provoking questions, are comfortable wading into ambiguous problems and can take ownership, a critical thinker, and has specialized experience in one or more of the following areas and possesses a broader comfort and ability to work within many of these areas:

  • Organizational psychology, behavioral economics
  • Change management
  • Workforce planning, operations and capability development
  • Program Management
  • Management consulting and / or corporate strategy
  • Data analytics & modeling
  • User research, synthesis of qualitative data and generating insights

It would be a bonus if you have:

  • 8 (eight) years of relevant experience
  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Psychology or Business Administration
  • Been a part of a major infrastructure program and preferably led activities associated with organization design, governance and resource planning
  • Membership to the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (CSIOP)
  • Rolled out digital transformation strategies

Responsibilities:

  • Assessing organizational capabilities, structures and processes and develop the future capabilities, competencies and critical roles that enable an organization’s 5-10 year strategy
  • Designing and activate organizational interventions to encourage collaboration across siloed organizations
  • Helping clients to shape and act on change strategies for complex organizational challenges to capitalize on value-creating opportunities
  • Generating new opportunities by thinking creatively about behavioral, financial and operational impacts, risks, experiments, data and other drivers
  • Translating behavioral research into insights that can be easily communicated to your collaborators and clients to inspire possible solutions
  • Crafting research plans comprised of interviews, workshops, analysis of analogous industries and organizations to understand an organization’s working dynamics and surface opportunity areas
  • Shape and act on change strategies that may start small, and lead to long-term impact at scale
  • Design tools, methodologies and frameworks that address strategic and organizational issues and foster new ways of thinking and working
  • Shape AECOM’s perspective on organizational strategy – we like to push the edges in all aspects of our wor
