Origination is a market-facing division bringing renewable energies to the market and to consumers by offering tailored energy solutions to help maximise value for customers. Working in Southern European Origination Within the Origination division, the Southern European Origination business concludes non-standard, structured and often complex wholesale transactions in Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy. We have been a first mover on long-term PPAs in Spain, and across our countries of responsibility we have by now contracted more than 100 long- and short-term wind and solar PPAs. The business is planning to significantly grow its business in regional and product scope over the next years. The responsibilities within Southern European Origination are split between Origination Iberia (Madrid), Origination France (Paris), Origination Italy (Milan), and Portfolio Management (Düsseldorf). While the Origination teams focus on originating, structuring, and negotiating value-adding transactions, Portfolio Management is the custodian of the portfolios – responsible for valuing and wholistically managing all portfolio exposures in the market, as well as providing the model, data, tools and process landscape fundamental to our activities. The Southern European Origination business model is unique in that complete commercial responsibility for managing risk resides within the business. Local origination and portfolio management closely collaborate on a joint “one team – one PnL” philosophy per region – that is, we all have “skin in the game”. Job Description Your role: You will report to the Head of Origination France, be based in Statkraft’s Paris office and work within a team of dynamic and skilled originators. The key aspects of the role are the end-to-end origination of new business for France, supporting to manage the existing portfolio as well as business development. Your responsibilities will include: Identify, develop, negotiate and execute structured energy transactions with embedded optionality in the French markets with a focus on long-term battery offtake agreements Contribute to pricing of BESS income streams, including ancillary markets revenues and optimiser performance Contribute to the scaling up of the portfolio of other non-standard power, multi-commodity and guarantees of origin (GoO) contracts in the French market Contribute to the knowledge build-up of market fundamentals/understanding of power and GoOs in France Develop and maintain relationships with large buyers of electricity such as industrials, corporates, suppliers/retailers Develop and maintain relationships with upstream generators, IPPs, project developers, investors, banks, utilities and merchant traders Work closely with the other Origination and Portfolio Management team members for new deal origination, structuring and pricing in order to grow and optimize the portfolio Manage entire deal approval process with internal stakeholders and take full front-to-end ownership of implementation of new deals and products and contract management over the lifetime To be successful in this role requires that you: Possess a curiosity and continuous drive to uncover opportunities.
