JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Senior Orthotist Prosthetist manages comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic patient care, including the evaluation, formulation, implementation, and continuation of patient treatment plans | designs, writes specifications for and fits artificial limbs, braces and appliances for body deformities and disorders following a physician’s prescription to give patients maximum possible function CPO evaluates patients with disabling conditions, including the designing and fitting of orthoses to treat a neuromusculoskeletal disorder or acquired condition, to improve mobility and or manage pain. CPO evaluates patients with limb amputation, and designs and fits prostheses to restore physiological function and or cosmesis | Examines affected area for factors affecting the fitting and placement of artificial limbs and orthopedic appliances
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree from a formal program of professional prosthetics AND Orthotics program
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Minimum 6 years of clinical experience required as a CPO following licensure/registration in the country of origin.
