About You
You are an experienced and confident payroll leader with a strong track record in managing complex, large-scale payroll operations across multiple entities. With a deep understanding of payroll systems, legislation, and compliance requirements, you bring a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
You’re passionate about delivering a seamless employee experience and pride yourself on your ability to lead high-performing teams with a focus on collaboration, service excellence, and accountability. Your ability to navigate complex environments and partner with a range of stakeholders across HR, Finance, ITS, and beyond allows you to drive impactful projects and system enhancements with confidence.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

  • Comprehensive Knowledge and Experience: Proven expertise in managing national and global HR/Payroll functions within complex organisational structures.
  • Advanced HR and Payroll Proficiency: Extensive knowledge and experience in HR administration, managing complex payroll operations, diverse modern awards and enterprise agreements, superannuation (including Defined Benefits), PAYG, Workcover, payroll tax legislation, and salary packaging processes in Australia and relevant countries.
  • Leadership and Team Cohesion: Strong leadership skills demonstrated by a track record of managing high-performing, cohesive teams. Experience in successfully managing performance and driving cultural change is essential.
  • Operational Excellence: Established ability to ensure the effective, accurate, and timely management of daily Payroll Services functions.
  • Innovative Problem Solving: Demonstrated initiative in identifying, developing, and implementing consistent and efficient process improvements.
  • Project and Change Management: Extensive experience in managing HR system projects, including scope mapping, blueprint development, and implementing transformational change.
  • Effective Communication and Relationship Building: Proven ability to establish successful professional relationships and effectively influence stakeholders in a complex organisational environment, while enhancing the profile of the People Services team.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Highly developed skills in both written and verbal communication, including drafting clear and concise business procedures and engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
