The role We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our Finance team based in Prestons on a permanent full-time basis. As a Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly pay runs. You’ll be responsible for onboarding new employees, managing terminations, handling master file changes, and overseeing leave management using MicrOpay EVO, UKG Ready Time & Attendance, and Workday systems. Your day-to-day will include: Processing payroll transactions, including manual payments and adjustments. Managing new employee set-up, terminations, and changes to employee records. Overseeing leave applications and ensuring accurate data import/export between systems. Preparing payroll reconciliations, reports, and superannuation payments. Responding promptly to payroll enquiries and liaising with internal teams. Supporting a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. You’ll also be expected to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, contribute to a positive team culture, and actively participate in your own professional development. Candidate Requirements You’ll bring at least 2 years' experience in a similar senior payroll role. You’ll also have: Strict confidentiality with sensitive information. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong relationship-building skills across all organisational levels. At least 2 years’ recent experience using MicrOpay EVO, UKG Ready Time & Attendance, and Workday. Exposure to the manufacturing or distribution industry is highly regarded.
