Senior Payroll Officer Exciting opportunity to join Inland Revenues Payroll Team Full time, Permanent role based in either Upper Hutt or Wellington The Opportunity | Ara Whiwhi Mahi We have an opportunity for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our Payroll Team at Inland Revenue reporting to the Service Owner – Payroll. This role will provide support to the Payroll function by providing expert technical advice and assistance on complex, multi-dimensional payroll matters as well as delivering successful project outcomes. Your responsibilities include utilising your strong experience with SAP payroll and Oracle along with working on various initiatives to ensure compliance with changing business & legislative needs. About you | Mōu The ideal person for this role will be in / have held a Senior Payroll position recently, be flexible, agile and good at building relationships in a large complex environment. You will possess a strong background in the more complex areas of Payroll including the application of legislation and employment agreements. Prior experience with analytical and data interpretation is essential as this is a part of the role. Practical experience in problem solving and managing complex pieces of work such as remediation exercises would be an advantage. To be successful, you must demonstrate the following: Preferred previous SAP payroll experience working with a complex payroll for a large organisation at a senior level. Ability to work accurately and analytically with complex data in excel to an advanced level (using formula’s/ creating pivot tables/ macro’s). Sound problem solving skills in relation to both technical and procedural issues and experience leading or taking a pivotal role in the successful project delivery of payroll outcomes. Sound understanding of New Zealand payroll related legislation and its application to payroll systems and supporting processes. Strong track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers and peers gaining their trust and respect. Strong track record of delivering results. You will also have experience in successfully developing and implementing improvements to payroll processes to ensure the best possible customer and compliance outcomes and providing effective training to others as needed.
