The Opportunity
We are seeking a
Senior Payroll Officer
for a
12-month fixed-term, full-time role based in Essendon Fields
.
As a
Senior Payroll Officer
, you will play a pivotal role in the administration, processing, reporting, and maintenance of
monthly salaried payroll
for all Linfox Group wholly owned Australian entities. This role ensures timely, accurate, and compliant payroll delivery, supporting both operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process allocatedmonthly salaried payroll, including leave reconciliations, salary adjustments, and terminations.
  • Set up new starters and manage offboarding in accordance with Linfox policies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and support the integrity of payroll ledgers.
  • Respond to payroll queries from across the business, providing expert guidance to managers and employees.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed payroll costing reports to business units.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior payroll team members, fostering best practice and continuous learning.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, system enhancements, and process optimisation within payroll operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive payroll experience, ideally3+ years in large corporate or operational environments.
  • Expertise inmonthly salaried payroll processingand related reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards, and best practices.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with enterprise payroll systems such asSAP, Kronos, or similar.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume payroll and support business-wide payroll operations.
