We’re on the lookout for a detail-driven and people-focused Senior Payroll Officer to join our vibrant Finance team at MECCA’s Support Centre in Richmond.
This is more than just a payroll role — it’s an opportunity to lead, innovate, and make your mark in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You’ll be a trusted advisor and leader, delivering seamless payroll services while supporting the ongoing growth and evolution of our business.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee and execute end-to-end payroll operations across Australia and New Zealand with accuracy and compliance
  • Lead, mentor and support our Payroll Officers, helping them grow and succeed
  • Manage payroll month-end and year-end processes, including reconciliations and audit requirements
  • Drive process improvements and help shape future payroll systems and efficiencies
  • Provide expert guidance on relevant legislation, awards, and company policies
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across People, Finance and Retail Operations to ensure seamless service delivery

What You Will Bring:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in end-to-end payroll within a complex, high-volume environment
  • Deep understanding of payroll legislation and awards, especially the General Retail Award
  • Proficiency in enterprise payroll systems such as Workday, Ento or HR3
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work with complex spreadsheets
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for accuracy, continuous improvement and teamwork
