Description
The Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for employees in compliance with Philippine labor laws and government regulations. This role ensures accurate salary computation, timely disbursement, and proper remittance of statutory contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and taxes (BIR). The position also involves mentoring junior payroll staff and handling complex payroll issues. Attention to details, good communication skills and able to maintain confidentiality are necessary skills required for the role. Responsibilities: Compute and process bi-monthly payroll, including overtime, allowances, bonuses, and deductions. Validate timekeeping and attendance records. Request and submits payroll bank requests. Ensure compliance with DOLE standards and BIR tax regulations. Prepare and remit mandatory contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and withholding taxes. Generate and submit reports such and other statutory filings to BIR, DOLE and government agencies. Maintain accurate employee records in payroll (Sprout System). Update payroll data for new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments. Review final pay separation and quitclaim. Support external audit related to payroll. Provide guidance to payroll staff and resolve escalated payroll queries. Recommend process improvements and automation initiatives. Provide training in payroll system Support application and release of ATM cards Liaise with the bank on payroll issues and resolution. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field. Experience: Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, with at least 1 year in a senior role. Proficiency in Philippine payroll systems and Advanced MS Excel. Knowledge of DOLE, BIR, and government contribution regulations. Knowledge in Sprout system is an advantage.
