EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3–5 years of payroll experience, including certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance.
  • Experience preparing and submitting DAS 140/142 and certified payroll reports.
  • Experience working with payroll exports and data reconciliation.
  • Experience with Section 3 reporting
  • 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with LCPtracker , Elations or other certified payroll platforms preferred.

    Pay: $35.00 - $44.00 per hour

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, labor compliance documentation, and reporting as required under state, federal, and project-specific regulations (including Davis-Bacon, Section 3, and DIR requirements).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and process payroll data in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Process employee compensation changes, including hourly rates, salaries, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Ensure payroll records and procedures comply with California Labor Code, DIR guidelines, and Nevada State labor laws.
  • Maintain and interpret wage determinations, including predetermined increases and fringe benefit requirements for both state and federal projects.
  • Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for public works projects in compliance with Davis-Bacon, California DIR, and Nevada prevailing wage rules.
  • Prepare and file Forms DAS-140 and DAS-142 with the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards for applicable projects.
  • Conduct Section 3 reporting and related documentation as required by HUD-funded projects.
  • Calculate and track fringe benefits, including health & welfare, pension and training contributions
  • Monitor compliance with apprenticeship ratios when applicable
  • Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions for taxes, garnishments, benefits, and other withholdings.
  • Assist with the distribution or reissuance of physical checks and direct deposits.
  • Maintain confidential payroll files, employee records, and supporting documentation for audits or regulatory inquiries.
  • Collaborate with HR and compliance departments to maintain prevailing wage determinations and wage classifications.
  • Stay up to date with changes in California/Nevada labor law, federal wage laws, and prevailing wage determinations.
  • Respond to compliance audits from GC’s
  • Perform additional payroll or compliance duties as assigned.
