Opportunity Reporting to the Director, People Services, the Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for delivering full cycle payroll for field and office employees across multiple legal entities. This role ensures timely, precise payroll delivery while supporting a positive employee experience. Working in downtown Calgary, within a small, collaborative People Services team, the position works closely with HR, Accounting, and Operations and provides strong payroll, Dayforce and HRIS support. It suits a payroll professional who is confident working independently, understands operational contexts, and brings strong technical and legislative knowledge. Responsibilities Process full cycle semimonthly payroll for Alberta based employees using Ceridian Dayforce ensuring adherence to federal and provincial legislation Serve as the primary contact for payroll related inquiries and resolve issues promptly Support and maintain time and attendance systems for hourly and field staff Administer taxable benefit calculations and payroll reporting for company provided vehicles Prepare and issue ROEs and T4s, and respond to Service Canada and CRA inquiries Complete statutory reporting requirements, including for WCB Alberta Prepare payroll journal entries, account reconciliations, and ad hoc reporting Administer benefits/savings, including premium/payment reconciliations and supporting data feeds between Dayforce and carriers Utilize core Ceridian Dayforce modules (pay, time capture, benefits, leave entitlements, and people administration) Act as the Dayforce Client Administrator by completing system maintenance, troubleshooting, processing support tickets, and overseeing quarterly release updates Participate in special projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications and Experience Education: Post-secondary education in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is preferred Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation considered an asset Experience: Minimum 7 years of full-cycle Canadian payroll experience Experience with HRIS and payroll systems with preference given to Dayforce Experience completing payroll year-end processes and government reporting Experience in a Midstream operating environment considered a strong asset Skills: Strong working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, CRA requirements, and statutory deductions Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel High degree of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills Customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism Rewards Competitive compensation with eligibility in our bonus program Comprehensive benefits Employer savings plan Parental leave top-up Flex time Interested candidates should apply to www.wolfmidstream.com.
