OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing support for various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management and corporate accounting, with proficiency in multiple payroll systems and software.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in payroll management with a strong understanding of financial concepts and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, UltiPro, Kronos, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with governmental accounting practices is preferred; experience in non-profit accounting is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a focus on accuracy; familiarity with 10 key typing is essential.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration processes and human resources functions is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform technical accounting tasks including debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping activities.     Pay: $93,864.00 - $97,643.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Manage payroll data entry and maintain employee records within HRIS systems such as Workday, ADP, or Paychex.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data through double-entry bookkeeping practices.
  • Collaborate with HR to administer benefits and resolve any payroll-related inquiries from employees.
  • Prepare journal entries and assist in general ledger accounting tasks to support month-end close processes.
  • Analyze payroll data to identify trends or discrepancies, providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Support accounts payable and receivable functions as needed, contributing to overall financial operations.
  • Stay current on tax regulations and ensure accurate reporting for payroll taxes and other deductions.
