What your everyday life will be like...
After acquiring the necessary knowledge of the church's classification and remuneration system, you will be the primary contact person for your colleagues in payroll, guiding them through challenging social security, tax, and organizational issues. Together with your team, you will ensure accurate payroll processing within the organization. You will be supported in this by a key user for time management and IT interfaces, the internal legal specialist, and the external software service providers of the church's data center.
Payroll/Payroll accounting
- Independent processing of monthly payroll according to AVR-Württemberg/TVöD VKA, TV-L and LBesO for almost 600 employees with an additional ~1.7 FTE in two monthly payroll runs.
- Maintenance and administration of employee master data
- Handling of registration and certification processes (social security, tax authorities, health insurance funds)
- Contact person for employees and managers regarding billing and tax law issues
- Implementation of collectively agreed, legal and company-specific changes in payroll accounting and time management
- Creation of analyses, statistics and reports
- Support during audits by social security institutions and tax authorities
Human Resources Administration
- Support throughout the entire employee life cycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
- Preparation of employment contracts, certificates and personnel-related documents
- Maintenance of (digital) personnel files
- Collaboration with the in-house accounting and controlling department, the legal department and external service providers
- Support for HR projects and process optimizations
- active participation in digitization projects and further development of HR processes
What you bring...
- Completed commercial training or studies with a focus on personnel/HR/finance.
- Several years of professional experience in payroll accounting, ideally in the public sector or with a church-affiliated or diaconal employer, Caritas, or a company bound by a collective bargaining agreement.
- Sound knowledge of labor, tax and social security law
- initial experience in leading and managing small specialist units
- Knowledge of the TVöD/AVR (Collective Agreement for the Public Sector/Collective Bargaining Agreement for Church Employees) and the KIDICAP payroll software is advantageous; knowledge of civil service law should be acquired gradually over the course of employment.
