Overview:
We are looking for a Senior People Business Partner Director to support and partner with GitHub business leaders to drive programmatic investments across the organization. You will serve as a consultant to leadership on HR-related priorities that span building an organizational and talent strategy that supports the business strategy, to organizational development (leadership team performance, culture, organization design), and diversity, inclusion & belonging (DI&B).
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with designated business leaders as an expert on human resources, as an executive coach and influencer of culture, talent planning, leadership team effectiveness, organizational effectiveness and design
- Build trust and credibility with our business leaders to coach and develop organizational leadership and management excellence, and hold leaders accountable to business outcomes
- Delivery of high quality HR rhythm of business in partnership with HR Consultants and HR Centers of Excellence (COEs)
- Plan and execute talent initiatives, such as management development, DI&B strategy, talent management and learning through data analytics and metrics
- Identify and surface opportunities to advance the effectiveness of our teams and work across functions, and work with leaders to develop initiatives and programs to improve effectiveness
- Support Talent Rhythm of the Business across designated client groups
- Operate as a member of the HR team, working in collaboration across HR COEs, including HR Operations, Global Compensation & Benefits, Global Talent Acquisition, Talent & Learning and DI&B to enable business priorities
- Support Employee Relations (ER) issues working with the HR Consulting team & Employment Attorney
- Collaborate with HR Services and Operations and Talent Development to develop and deploy company-wide people-oriented programs including promotions, onboarding, performance management, and rewards & recognition programs
- Help interpret people analytics data and internal trends for each function that is supported to inform business strategy and proactively identify issues
- Coach leaders on how they can be effective communicators, leaders, and mentors
- Oversee and drive projects, programs, and initiatives
- Provide vision and oversight of project plans, influence stakeholders, and identify and respond to emerging requirements
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 12+ years of work experience with human resources processes or related (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field AND 10+ years of work experience with human resources or related processes (e.g., hiring, training, performance management)
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience autonomously supporting multiple functional areas as a strategic HR partner, demonstrating strong ownership and accountability.
- Extensive experience serving as a strategic HR partner to senior executives across functional areas such as Engineering, Product, and Security.
- Experience in large, complex global technical organizations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven success in problem-solving and adaptability through change.
- Strong organizational development and effectiveness skills (e.g., change management, coaching, leadership team effectiveness, culture).
- Experience providing and interpreting data and metrics across the organization.
- Skilled in creating a dynamic learning environment and working with the business to assess development needs.
- Proactive collaboration within HR teams and demonstrated ability to impact and influence leaders of many levels.
- Ability to travel as needed, about 10%.
Compensation Range: The base salary range for this job is USD $132,400.00 - USD $351,300.00 /Yr.
These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual’s base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
