Job Summary: T3i Dietitians assigned to the Special Warfare Training Wing (SWTW) at Lackland AFB provide performance-focused nutrition support to develop and sustain the Air Force’s Special Warfare (SW) candidates throughout demanding training pipelines. These candidates are organized, trained, and equipped to operate in high-risk, high-performance environments, requiring optimal physical readiness, recovery, and resilience. The Senior Dietitian serves as a subject matter expert in performance nutrition, responsible for delivering evidence-based nutrition strategies that enhance training adaptation, recovery, injury mitigation, and overall operational readiness. This role directly supports candidates across 12-to-24-month training pipelines, working in an embedded, interdisciplinary environment alongside strength and conditioning coaches, cadre, and leadership. Daily activities include individualized nutrition counseling, group education, performance fueling strategies, and collaboration with staff to optimize training outcomes. The Senior Dietitian must be capable of operating in dynamic training environments, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, and fostering effective relationships with candidates, leadership, and teammates. Responsibilities:  * Provide individualized and group-based nutrition counseling to support performance, recovery, and resilience * Develop and implement evidence-based nutrition strategies aligned with high-performance training demands, particularly revolving around hydration, sleep deprivation, long duration and/or extreme physical exertion, heat exposure, and long-term performance development * Educate candidates and staff on performance nutrition, recovery, and training considerations * Execute testing events, such as body composition testing and interpret results * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate nutrition into broader human performance initiatives * Monitor and assess candidate nutrition habits and provide actionable recommendations to enhance outcomes * Support training pipelines by aligning nutrition strategies with physical and operational demands * Maintain accurate documentation and provide professional assessments of program effectiveness * Employ relevant technologies and data to inform nutrition interventions and track progress * With assistance from the PM and Government counterparts, acquire and maintain medical credentialing * Adapt to changing training schedules, environments, and candidate needs * Uphold the highest standards of conduct and professionalism in all interactions * Supports Physical Performance Optimization, by delivering nutrition strategies that enhance training adaptation, recovery, injury mitigation, and operational readiness across training pipeline * Conducts comprehensive nutrition assessments and provides guidance on fueling, hydration, recovery, supplement use, and nutrient timing in alignment with Human Performance objectives * Coordinates with Human Performance staff and Government medical personnel to support injury prevention, recovery, and return-to-training considerations within scope of practice * Tracks and submits Human Performance utilization data in accordance with government guidance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of services performed Required Skills and Experience:  * Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field * Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential * Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) * Minimum of 5 years of experience working with high-performance populations * Demonstrated experience applying performance nutrition principles in dynamic, physically demanding settings * Strong communication (written and oral), leadership, and organizational skills * Ability to build rapport and influence behavior change in high-performing individuals * Proficient understanding of computers, email, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Desired Skills and Experience:  * 10+ years supporting high-performance populations * Experience supporting military training pipelines, particularly Special Warfare or similar environments * Experience working with professional, collegiate, or elite-level athletes * Experience supporting endurance athletes and/or endurance training camps * Experience supporting operational units, particularly within SOF * Familiarity with integrating nutrition into multidisciplinary human performance programs * Experience leveraging data or technology to inform performance nutrition strategies Required Background Check: National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) Type of Employment: Full-Time  T3i Drug Free Workplace Statement:  As a Federal Government Contractor, T3i is required to strictly adhere to federally mandated drug-free workplace standards.  To ensure compliance with this requirement, T3i conducts pre-employment drug screening for all new hire personnel (full time, part time, and independent contractor) and annual random drug screening for all current T3i personnel.  All drug screening includes testing for the following drugs, at a minimum: Marijuana (CBD, hemp oil, and other cannabidiol use may result in a positive result), cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, 6-monoacetylmorphine, and PCP.  Personnel who cannot pass drug screening are not eligible for employment with T3i.
