Blossom HCG Ltd aspires to develop its reputation in the provision of support to people with a learning disability in Support Living Homes.

To act as deputy to the House Leader, by working on opposite shifts and supporting with supervisory tasks in their absence, acting as a decision maker and central point of advice and support for staff on shift. You will model good practice to Carer Support Assistants, and to act as shift lead in the absence of the House Leader.
Provide high standards of care to the people living in the home, who may have experienced traumatic life experiences and who may present with emotional or behavioural problems or learning difficulties.

Responsibilities
  1. Deputise for the House Leader, by ensuring you are working on the opposite shift to the House Leader.
    2.Demonstrate good practices in your own direct work with the people we support, to provide a good practice model for other staff members.
  2. Provide role modelling, guidance, mentoring and training to Carer Support Assistants, as directed by the House Leader.
  3. Support the induction of new Carer Support Assistants, including “buddy” duties as requested.
    5.Support the house leader in carrying out their administrative duties, such as supervisions, audits and monitoring good practice.
    6.Work flexible hours in response to the needs of the people we support and their care package.
    7.Strive to build positive relationships with each adult in our care, taking an interest in all aspects of the person’s life, health, and well-being; and to ensure that individual needs are met.
    8.Treat each person with dignity and respect.
    9.Support the adults we care for to enjoy and achieve successful outcomes both at home and within the local community.
  4. Promote the development of positive relationships with peers and adults (at the home, within families, and in the community).
  5. Recognise, respond, record, and refer any safeguarding concerns in line with Blossom’s Safeguarding Policy.
    10.Engage in monthly supervision sessions with the House Leader; and to use supervisions for self-reflection of practice, reactions, and triggers.
    11.Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, to support the House Leader in promoting the positive values and ethos of working with Blossom HCG Ltd.
    12.Respect and maintain the confidential nature of the work.
  6. Record any incidents in line with the home’s Incident Reporting Policy.
  7. Participate in multi-agency meetings as required.
  8. In your House Leaders absence, deal with email and telephone enquiries in a professional manner and ensure that all enquiries are passed to the appropriate person and/or responded to in a timely manner.
  9. Maintain a professional liaison and co-operate with external agencies concerned with the welfare of the people we support.
  10. Contribute to care planning and effective risk assessment for the people we support.
  11. Ensure that health and safety regulations are complied with including environmental health and fire regulations. To support in the home environment maintaining a sense of order, safety, and well-being, as well as a sense of pride.
    19.Report to the house leader any major structural problems with the house.
  12. Carry out any other duties that may be reasonably requested.
