EDUCATION:

College Diploma in Security Management or related field. An equivalent combination of education, experience and job knowledge may also be considered.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Bilingual imperative with proficiency at the CBC level. If you are unsure of your proficiency level, we encourage you to self-assess here

EXPERIENCE:

  • Supervising security personnel by mentoring, assigning tasks, providing feedback, and supporting development.
  • Providing security advice and guidance to clients and management.
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with internal or external stakeholders.
  • Recent experience working in at least two of the following security controls: security screening, information technology security, physical security, business continuity management, information management security, security requirements associated with contracts and other arrangements, security event management, security awareness or training.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Security program development and evaluation.
  • Government of Canada security policies, instruments, and guidelines related to departmental security.

ASSET QUALIFICATION:

  • Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Experience working in Building Emergency and Evacuation Preparedness
  • Experience leading a physical security program or security event management for public events.
Responsibilities

As the Senior Physical Security Advisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a suite of complex and critical security programs for the CNSC, including Physical Security, Building Emergency and Evacuation Preparedness, Public Events Security, and other specialized programs designed to safeguard people, assets, information, and operations.
You will lead the development and implementation of physical security plans, manage contracts and contractor relationships to ensure high-quality service delivery, supervise a small but skilled team of Physical Security Officers and lead security event management for the CNSC’s Public events. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining operational continuity and upholding the CNSC’s commitment to a secure and resilient environment.
