ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Allied Health Professional is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing clinical leadership and high quality services to patients/ clients of the WNSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) in order to meet health and wellbeing needs.
This is an opportunity to work with the Orange Rehabilitation Unit and Orange Health Service Physiotherapy & Exercise Physiology Department. The successful applicant will be employed in a job share capacity and work together to lead a team in a in this setting which consists of Level 1-2 Physiotherapist, and allied health assistant. You will manage a clinical case load as well as supporting staff and students, evaluate the service, as well as providing training and support to your peers within Orange Health Service and neighbouring facilities as needed in the Western New South Wales Health District.
The clinical case load consists of neurological presentations, referrals from hospital wards such as medical and surgical units, and offer extensive and targeted discharge planning in collaboration with a specialized multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
With a focus on innovative models of care, Orange Health Service is the largest rural hospital in New South Wales and the regional teaching, referral and trauma centre for the Central West. Newly developed in 2011 on the grounds of Bloomfield Campus, the 520 bed state of the art facility has a 200 bed general hospital, with five operating suites and 60 specialised treatment areas.
The Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology department actively support professional development and aim to ensure opportunities such as in-services, journal clubs, and supervision and are provided on weekly basis.
