SPORTS/MUSCULOSKELETAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST: SPORTS LAB

Double Bay, Sydney | Plus Head Physio Role with Sydney University AFL

Immediate Start | Full Time

Sports Lab is seeking an experienced Senior Sports or Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our well-established team, based at our Double Bay clinic with the flexibility to work across our other Sydney locations.

This role offers a genuinely varied caseload, a supportive and experienced team, and structured mentoring – with the added drawcard of taking over as Head Physiotherapist for Sydney University AFL for the remainder of the current season.

Your Role at Sports Lab

  • A genuinely varied clinical caseload spanning musculoskeletal, sports and post-operative rehabilitation.
  • Based at our Double Bay clinic, with the opportunity to work across our other Sydney clinics (inner west and eastern suburbs) as needed.
  • Support from a close-knit team of experienced Sports, Musculoskeletal and Exercise Physiotherapists.
  • Structured mentoring available – whether you are looking to develop your own skills or want to mentor junior team members.
  • A well-established, highly-regarded practice with a strong reputation across Sydney's eastern suburbs and inner west.

Plus: Head Physio, Sydney University AFL

As part of this role, you will take over as Head Physiotherapist for Sydney University AFL for the remainder of the current season – a great opportunity to add high-level sports coverage experience to your clinical caseload.

  • Take over as Head Physiotherapist for the Sydney University AFL program for the remainder of the season, with the prospect of continuing into future seasons.
  • Work closely with the coaching team, providing pitch-side coverage, injury assessment, and return-to-play management.
  • Oversee junior physiotherapists and trainers supporting the program.
  • Build your sports profile and network within semi-elite Australian Rules Football.

About You

  • A Senior Physiotherapist with experience in sports and/or musculoskeletal physiotherapy, ideally within private practice.
  • Confident working pitch-side and making real-time clinical decisions in a team sport environment.
  • An excellent communicator who builds strong relationships with patients, athletes, coaching staff and referring practitioners.
  • A team player who is willing to contribute to a positive clinic culture and, where appropriate, mentor junior staff.
  • Available to work Saturdays as part of your regular clinical schedule.
  • Open to travelling between Double Bay and our other Sydney clinics as required.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) or equivalent.
  • Full, current AHPRA registration.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current professional indemnity insurance.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between clinic sites.
  • Availability to work Saturdays.

Highly Regarded (Not Essential)

  • 3+ years' physiotherapy experience and/or a relevant postgraduate qualification, particular interest in sports physiotherapy.
  • Prior experience in a team sport or sideline coverage role.
  • Excellent manual therapy skills.
  • Formal Pilates or clinical exercise training.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior staff.

Remuneration

Remuneration is structured as a base salary (in line with the Health Professionals and Support Services Award) plus performance-based commission, reviewed at six months and annually thereafter. A CPD allowance and standard employment benefits are included in the package.
