A development opportunity has arisen for a senior physiotherapist to work as part of a friendly and supportive team on a 21-bedded GP-led rehabilitation and complex discharge ward.
The post is based at Monnow Vale Health & Social Care Facility in the market town of Monmouth and, alongside ward-based work, will involve providing a follow-up service into the community which covers a large rural area.
The successful candidate will work alongside nursing and health care support staff, a dedicated ward social worker, an occupational therapist and a therapy technician.
As part of a wider integrated community team there are plenty of opportunities for shared training, shared working and support.
To provide a physiotherapy service to a 21-bedded GP-led, ward.
To provide physiotherapy assessment and intervention to people with a range of diagnoses and with rehabilitation and complex discharge needs.
To carry out complex assessments in moving and handling, specialist seating and bed positioning.
To attend and contribute to the weekly multi-disciplinary meeting and to family meetings.
To be person-centred at all times and to have a good understanding of the mental capacity act and how this impacts on assessment and intervention.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
