Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Senior Physiotherapy Assistant to join the Therapies Department. The successful candidate will be based within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Team.
We are looking for a motivated and caring individual who is enthusiastic about rehabilitation of Orthopaedic patients, providing support to people of varying ages, and who enjoys working in a team. The post holder will assist the physiotherapists to maintain a high standard of patient care by undertaking delegated clinical programmes of management and administrative duties to support the functioning of the department.
The Trauma and Orthopaedic Team is a friendly, multi-disciplinary team, with staff who work together to facilitate pre and post operative rehabilitation.
You will be working across the inpatient Trauma and Orthopaedic wards alongside the qualified Physiotherapists. You will be expected to carry your own caseload of patients and provide the pre- prescribed treatment plans utilising a variety of basic physiotherapy techniques including mobility and exercise programmes. You will also be assisting the Physiotherapist in treatment sessions for patients who require more than once therapist for support. You will have some non clinical tasks for the running of the team including, provisions of walking aids, taking messages, documentation and other admin tasks. You will be working with patients of varying ages and social and economic backgrounds, so will need to use a variety of communication skills and techniques to help you build rapport with your patients.

The post holder will assist the physiotherapists to maintain a high standard of patient care by undertaking delegated clinical programmes of management and administrative duties to support the functioning of the department.
The post holder will work a seven day pattern including weekends and bank holidays.
The post holder will work only under the direction of qualified physiotherapists and will require a period of induction and training of approximately three months, to achieve the required competencies to perform all tasks
